A leading Cheshire law firm has bolstered its conveyancing team after one of its trainees qualified as a solicitor and secured a permanent role.
Louise Turner, 26, has completed her training with Watsons Solicitors after joining the Warrington-based practice in 2024.
Her progression comes after an intensive 18 months in which she combined the final stages of her professional training with managing a full conveyancing caseload.
Louise studied for an LLB honours degree at the University of Liverpool before completing a Master of Law in professional legal practice at the University of Law.
She said: “Qualifying as a solicitor is something I have been working towards for ten years, so reaching this point means a huge amount to me.
“Watsons trusted me with real responsibility from early in my time here, which has helped me develop enormously both professionally and personally.
“My legal secretary, Lynn Bentley, has been a huge source of support, alongside the wider Watsons team, my family, and friends.
“I’m proud to have qualified, but this feels much more like the start of the next stage than the end of the journey. I’m looking forward to developing further within conveyancing and, in time, helping other people coming through the profession.”
Louise is happy to put the studying on ice for now but is eager to guide others by using her experience to both inspire and guide the next generation of solicitors.
Throughout her time at Watsons, Louise has been able to lean on the expertise of senior colleagues.
Partner Chris Illingworth said supporting people to progress through the business was an important part of Watsons’ approach.
He said: “Louise has developed significantly since joining us and has earned this opportunity through her commitment, ability, and hard work.
“She has taken on increasing responsibility during her training and has become an important part of the conveyancing team.
“We want talented people to be able to build their careers at Watsons. Giving people the opportunity, experience, and support to progress is important both for their development and for the long-term strength of the firm.
“We’re thrilled Louise is continuing her career with us and look forward to seeing what she achieves next.”
Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family law, employment law, wills and probate, and conveyancing.
The team of experienced solicitors holds various accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
