Back in business! Watsons shows support as awards return for 2022

May 3, 2022

Warrington Business Awards are back – and Watsons Solicitors has continued to support the cause by sponsoring an accolade.

The biennial awards return for a fifth time with Watsons Solicitors throwing its backing behind the Business Man of the Year honour having previously sponsored the Business Woman of the Year category.

The Business Man of the Year award recognises an individual who has demonstrated continued commitment to, and support of, the local business community.

Danny Hudson, partner, and member of the family law department at Watsons Solicitors, and chairman of the Warrington Business Awards committee, is thrilled the company has continued its long association with the organisation.

He said: “It is wonderful to have the awards back after they were postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“The business awards are always one of my highlights of the year because we get to celebrate the brilliant work done by so many people in the town.

“It’s great to have Watsons, and so many other key members of the Warrington business community, involved in the awards, which provides vital promotion of organisations and the people that make the town thrive.”

Alongside the Watsons Solicitors-sponsored Business Man of the Year Award, winners will be crowned at the ceremony on 20 October in the following categories:

  • Small Business of the Year
  • Medium Business of the Year
  • Large Business of the Year
  • Business Woman of the Year
  • Employer of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • New Business of the Year
  • Community Initiative
  • Lifetime Achievement

Danny continued: “We have previously sponsored honours at the Warrington Business Awards, and as a company we had no hesitation in supporting a fantastic cause once again.

“I am absolutely convinced there will be a high number of entrants and it will be fascinating to see who picks up the trophies on the night.”

Previously run by a local newspaper, the awards, which usually sees around 500 people attending, were relaunched in 2015 as a not-for-profit organisation by a group of businesspeople.

Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family law, employment law, wills and probate, and conveyancing.

The team of experienced solicitors each hold various accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
