Chris’ appointment strengthens Cheshire conveyancing solicitors

December 10, 2020

A Cheshire law firm has bolstered its conveyancing department with the recruitment of an experienced solicitor.

Chris Illingworth joins Watsons Solicitors and brings 20 years’ conveyancing experience in the Warrington and Cheshire area, including heading up the new build team in his previous role.

Chris, who specialises in residential conveyancing, is no stranger to Watsons Solicitors with the two regularly working together on opposite sides of house purchases and sales.

The law firm has built an enviable reputation as the go-to conveyancing solicitors in Cheshire, with instructions rising each year.

Chris said: “When I was on the outside looking in, the personnel at Watsons Solicitors were always very professional and prompt in dealing with enquiries.

“It was an easy decision to join as they share the same big picture thinking: it’s important to be pragmatic and the number one goal is to get the client moved as quickly and smoothly as possible.

“I’ve settled in well and am excited to support my colleagues and work as a team across all departments. There are no silos and the law firm genuinely places the needs of the client first.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the long-term success of Watsons.”

Steve Martin, partner and head of the property department, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Chris to the team. We have liaised with him over the years when he was on the other side of conveyancing work, and he was always a pleasure to deal with.

“Our conveyancing department has experienced an increase in instructions year-on-year and Chris’ arrival will help continue our success.”

Chris, who lives in Cheshire and classes Warrington as his ‘working home’, studied law at the University of Northampton before qualifying as a solicitor in 2001. He was made a partner at a law firm in Congleton before moving to a Warrington-based counterpart in 2014.

He added: “I’m eager to progress my career and know I have every opportunity at Watsons Solicitors.

“In addition to servicing clients, I will also be working closely with the team to update systems and increase integrations such as on our website to help us improve efficiencies.

“Digital is revolutionising the sector and Watsons is leading the way on this.”

Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family law, employment law, wills and probate, personal injury and conveyancing.

The team of experienced solicitors each hold various accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
