Darcey Moore has described how landing a training contract with Watsons Solicitors will cap a life-changing period.
The Staffordshire native joined the Cheshire-based law firm as a paralegal in July 2024, and less than 12 months later, she has been awarded a traineeship to become a fully qualified solicitor.
Darcey, who has an LLB honours degree from the University of Lincoln in Law with Criminology, said: “It has been a fantastic period for me, and long may it continue.
“I’ve been able to grow in my role at Watsons and I am very grateful that the work I’ve done has been recognised with a training contract.”
Darcey, who completed her Master of Law in legal practice at the University of BPP in Birmingham, is relishing the chance to build on the knowledge she has garnered through her work as a paralegal.
She continued: “In my line of work, you learn a lot about the basics, which provides a great grounding.
“You really grow by carrying out activity such as running a file, attending hearings, and shadowing counsel.
“Now I get to broaden that understanding by taking a seat in other departments of the firm and seeing how they operate.
“There are so many transferrable skills that I can develop during my training contract.”
Danny Hudson, partner and a member of the family department at Watsons Solicitors, said: “Darcey has certainly hit the ground running since arriving here, evidenced by the offer she has gladly accepted.
“It is testament to her hard work and commitment to the firm that she is in a position to undertake a training contract so soon after joining us.
“A training contract is the golden nugget to becoming a fully-fledged solicitor, and we are all looking forward to seeing Darcey develop.”
