A newly-qualified solicitor has secured a permanent role at a growing Cheshire law firm.
Lauren Singh joins Watsons Solicitors after completing her two-year training contract with the Warrington-based company and will split her time between the employment law and family law departments.
Her appointment further bolsters the firm’s ever-growing team of young solicitors as it continues to experience an increase in enquiries across all disciplines.
Lauren, who spent time on work experience at Watsons in 2016, studied the Graduate Diploma in Law at Manchester Metropolitan University and then graduated with a high commendation in the Legal Practice Course.
Prior to joining Watsons in 2018, Lauren worked at Slater and Gordon as a fee earner in the industrial disease department as well as at JMW Solicitors as a paralegal working in the business crime department on the Hillsborough disaster.
She said: “The support I have received from the Watsons team throughout my training contract has been amazing, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue my career with them.
“I’ve really enjoyed the last two years and have worked on some interesting and varied cases.
“I’m looking forward to strengthening my skills in the family law and employment law departments ahead of choosing a discipline to specialise in.”
Prospective lawyers complete a two-year professional training programme – the final step to becoming a solicitor – at a firm of solicitors, which includes gaining practical experience in at least three areas of the law, in order to become qualified.
Danny Hudson, partner and member of the family law department, said: “Lauren has impressed with her work ethic and interpersonal skills since joining from a large city firm.
“Her determination to succeed really shone through and we have no doubt that this will now transition into her representation of clients going forward.”
Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family law, employment law, wills and probate, personal injury, and conveyancing.
The team of experienced solicitors hold various accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
