Lauren Soutar and a minibus full of female business minds are preparing to pull on their walking boots for a networking event with a difference.
Lauren, a member of the family department at Watsons Solicitors, leads a 16-strong team climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on Friday 9 August as part of a fundraising initiative aimed at providing vital funds for Warrington Youth Zone.
The purpose-built state-of-the-art facility provides somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to for every young person aged 7 to 19 – and up to 25 for those with additional needs – in the town.
Lauren, who is a Warrington Youth Zone trustee, and Adele Carr Recruitment’s Rebecca Delooze, have combined to stage the day, which is focused on empowerment, networking, and giving back.
Speaking about the event, Lauren, who will be joined by Watsons colleague Lauren Hosie, said: “I’m incredibly passionate about supporting the invaluable work the zone does, and this is a way of raising important funds.
“With the school holidays on the horizon, many families start to worry about things as fundamental as a hot meal, which is something the facility provides.
“On top of that, Warrington Youth Zone delivers activities, including sports, arts, music, dance, drama, and cooking, all in a safe and welcoming environment.
“The town really benefits from the wonderful work that takes place as young people are inspired to achieve.”
On scaling the 1,000-metre mountain, which can take around seven hours to complete, Lauren added: “It’s going to be a really great day focused on women networking.
“As long as we have enough breath to chat, we will have a fantastic time!”
