Louise secures training contract at Cheshire law firm

March 10, 2025

Louise Turner now has the “final piece of the puzzle” after being rewarded with a training contract by Watsons Solicitors.

Joining the Cheshire-based law firm's conveyancing team in summer 2024, Louise will now further broaden her knowledge by spending time with different departments as part of her traineeship.

Having started her journey to becoming a fully qualified solicitor back in 2016, the end is finally in sight.

Louise, who studied an LLB honours degree at the University of Liverpool before completing a Master of Law in professional legal practice at the University of Law, said: “To be given a training contract was simply the best news I could have had.

“Becoming a solicitor is something I’ve been working towards for a number of years, suffering highs and lows along the way, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“A training contract is out of your control as your employer must make sure that you are the right fit for them, so I’ve just got my head down and worked as hard as I could.

“It’s wonderful that I’ve been trusted by Watsons as I continue to grow and become the best solicitor I can be.”

Having been part of a supportive property department, which includes Chris Illingworth and Lauren Hosie, as well as legal secretary Lynne Bentley, Louise is ready to learn from other valued members of Watsons.

She continued: “It will be great to move around, see how other teams work, and gain crucial experience in different areas.

“For example, there are areas of wills and probate and matrimonial matters that do crossover with property, so that will be invaluable.”

Chris, partner and member of the conveyancing department, is pleased to have been able to offer Louise a training contract.

He said: “From the first time we met Louise, it has been obvious just how invested she is in learning and developing into the very best solicitor she can be.

“This is a reward for her hard work and dedication since arriving at Watsons, and we are all eager to watch her grow between now and the end of her training contract.”
