An awards event celebrating the best of business across Warrington is to return in 2020.
The fourth biennial Warrington Business Awards will take place next year to toast the great and the good of the area’s business community.
After a record-breaking event in 2018, organisers are encouraging even more organisations to put their names forward for a gong this time around.
Danny Hudson, partner and member of the family law department at Watsons Solicitors and member of the Warrington Business Awards committee said planning was well underway for another fantastic night of celebration.
He said: “Warrington has an excellent range of businesses and it is always a personal highlight to pay tribute to the work of those across our community every two years.
“The awards have proven to be a big hit with companies and business leaders, and it is always a great night to congratulate all those involved for their hard work.”
More than 450 guests attended the 2018 event, with 12 gongs – specially designed by students at Priestly College – handed out on the night.
Danny added: “We’re looking forward to handing out more awards this year, working closely with Priestly College once again to provide the fantastic bespoke trophies for our lucky winners.”
Dunky’s Day Nurseries was the big winner scooping business of the year while Siobhan McCarroll, founder and managing director, won businesswoman of the year.
Dave Thompson MBE, CEO at Warrington Disability Partnership, was presented with the prestigious lifetime achievement award.
He said: “Receiving an award is truly an honour, and the fact these awards are judged by my peers makes it extra special. What better accolade is there?
“To be respected by your peers is humbling and for me personally it was very special as 30 years ago I had to give up the business where I was a partner after a serious spinal cord injury.
“While it was me who received the award, there are a lot of people who work alongside me who this was for – the staff and volunteers of our charity.”
The not-for-profit awards have also raised vital funds for local causes, including £10,000 for the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation.
The Warrington Business Awards will be held on September 11, 2020 at the fantastic Walton Hall.
