Lauren Hosie is relishing the opportunity to showcase her residential conveyancing expertise after becoming the latest member of Watsons Solicitors property department.
Cheshire-based Watsons has appointed Lauren to help handle all the legal aspects of buying or selling a property, which includes dealing with various parties such as estate agents, mortgage lenders, land registry, search providers, and HMRC.
The hiring of Lauren bolsters the property department and will help cement its place as a leading conveyancing law firm.
Lauren, who has a degree in law with criminology from the University of Central Lancashire before completing her Legal Practice Course, said: “It’s an interesting time for the property and housing markets.
“Stamp duty holidays are long gone and combined with the cost-of-living crisis and higher interest rates leading to increased mortgage repayments, things are a little uncertain.
“The market is moving however, and there are still an awful lot of sales going through, so it proves that people are as keen as ever to buy property.
“Watsons is completing on hundreds of properties a month and it is an incredibly busy practice.”
Lauren was a partner in her previous Wigan-based firm before moving to Warrington’s Watsons.
She continued: “It was important for me to find a firm that is willing to change with the times and Watsons offers wonderful flexibility and provides a caring and supportive environment.
“I wanted to get back to work after having my son, and Watsons being a family-oriented firm that puts real trust in its employees stood out to me.
“There’s a fantastic culture where everyone is prepared to share advice and knowledge with each other.”
A qualified solicitor since 2017, Lauren knew from early on in her training that property law was the area she wanted to specialise in.
She added: “It suits my personality. It’s about being structured and following a certain process from start to finish.”
Latham Parry, managing partner and employment law specialist at Watsons, said: “Our desire to bring in the most talented legal professionals never changes, so we are thrilled to have appointed Lauren.”
