A Warrington-based firm of solicitors has thrown its support behind the town’s learning disability Rugby League (LDRL) team.
The move by Watsons Solicitors strengthens the law firm’s partnership with the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, which works with the LDRL club. The Watsons Solicitors logo will adorn the team’s jerseys throughout 2020.
The team plays in the Community Integrated Super League and will take part in its first festival in March this year.
The team was set up following the success of the Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) team that went on to become world champions in 2018 as well as be crowned the UK’s first PDRL Grand Final winners in September 2019.
Watsons Solicitors partner and family law specialist Danny Hudson said: “We are over the moon to be sponsoring the Warrington Wolves LDRL team.
“It’s fantastic to build on our existing relationship with the club, which feeds back into the town. This whole movement has brought utter joy and a sense of community to Warrington.
“We are thrilled to be a little part of it.”
Neil Kelly, Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation director, added: “We’re excited to have Watsons Solicitors on board. As with all sports teams, we rely on sponsorship and we’re very thankful the company has stepped up.
“Its sponsorship will help us to carry on with the work we do. We are looking forward to this season and participating in the CIC Super League.”
Watsons, which has been based in the town for more than 60 years, is dedicated to supporting the community.
The firm has previously sponsored the annual Wire 2 Wolves fundraising beer festival and has also raised £4,000 for the club’s charitable foundation as part of its Will Week campaign in November.
