The Watsons Solicitors family was out in full force as a quintet of legal experts joined the masses in competing at the Warrington Running Festival.
Five employees from the law firm, which sponsored the event for a third consecutive year, joined thousands of people in racing across a variety of distances as the sun shone.
The Warrington Running Festival saw participants compete in its 5km, 10km, half-marathon, and junior race, all in support of St Rocco’s Hospice.
Partner and residential conveyancing solicitor Chris Illingworth led the way by tackling the 10km in a time of 54 minutes and 44 seconds.
Managing partner Latham Parry completed the 5km in a time of 27 minutes and seven seconds, although bragging rights went to his eldest son Ioan, who pipped his father to the line by a single second.
Partner and head of the family department Catrin Parry, paralegal Vicky Leonard, and trainee solicitor Darcey Moore followed not too far behind.
Chris, who has completed the half-marathon and 5km in previous years, said: “For me this year, it was very much about completing the set of races, as well as hitting three in a row, and I have the 5km, 10km, and half-marathon medals all hanging in my office now.
“The biggest question for me is which distance I should run next year, now that I’ve ticked all the boxes.”
On the event as a whole, Chris continued: “It was an early start setting up from 7am, but it was great to see all the runners arriving with the combination of nervous energy, excitement, and fear. We powered a few up with our collection of free pastries, sweets, bananas, and bottles of water.
“As an event, it goes to the heart of what Watsons are trying to achieve; being in the centre of the community and supporting those who need it along the way.”
Cheering from the sideline was partner and member of the family department Danny Hudson, who added: “What an amazing day. There was a real buzz about the event and well done to everyone who took part.”
