A partner at a leading Warrington law firm has praised the region’s business community after a sold-out glitzy awards ceremony.
More than 450 guests attended the 2018 Warrington Business Awards with 12 gongs handed out on the night.
Dunky’s Day Nurseries was the big winner scooping business of the year while Siobhan McCarroll, founder and managing director, won business woman of the year.
Dave Thompson MBE, CEO at Warrington Disability Partnership, was presented with the prestigious lifetime achievement award.
And Danny Hudson, partner at Watsons Solicitors and member of the Warrington Business Awards committee, also commended Priestley College for its involvement.
“Warrington’s business community has outdone itself,” he said.
“From a record-number of applications to selling out the awards dinner, everyone has played an integral part in making the event the success it was.
“We have been able to celebrate and recognise some fantastic achievements by companies and business leaders in the town.
“In addition, the committee has pulled out all the stops to make this year the best one yet. They have set the bar incredibly high for future years.
“And a special thank you to the pupils at Priestley College who designed and built individual trophies for each category. They really have made it a unique experience for each winner.
“It was also great to see £10,000 raised for the Tim Parry Jonathan Ball Peace Foundation in what is the 25th anniversary since the Warrington bombing.”
Watsons Solicitors sponsored the business woman of the year category and Danny presented Siobhan with her bespoke trophy.
He added: “It was a privilege to hand the award to Siobhan who saw off some stiff competition. Warrington is full of high-flying and successful business women and Siobhan is a worthy winner who has achieved so much.”
The Warrington Business Awards, which are not-for-profit, were held at Lymm Rugby Club.
