A football club just three promotions away from playing in the football league has received a boost after scoring a new sponsorship deal with a leading Warrington law firm.
Warrington Town FC, who ply their trade in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, have secured sponsorship of its main stand from Watsons Solicitors.
The two-year deal will go towards development of the club’s facilities, with promotion on the cards for this season.
The club’s Cantilever Park ground requires improvements including floodlight enhancement, extra turnstiles, and a revamp of changing facilities, to ensure it is eligible to play in the next league up.
The Yellows are currently fifth with a number of games in hand, having gone on an impressive FA Cup run that saw them bow out in the final qualifier before the first round proper.
And having reached the play-offs last season, hopes are high that manager Paul Carden and his players can secure promotion to the National League North division.
The partnership is the latest community initiative from Watsons Solicitors, which actively seeks opportunities to support local sports clubs and charities.
The solicitors firm has previously sponsored Warrington Town’s match ball, donated to the Warrington Wolves Foundation, and funded the purchase of new football kits for Chapelford Village Primary School.
Warrington Town marketing manager Chris Wells said: “Commercial support is crucial at our level of non-league football, and Watsons Solicitors coming on board is a big boost for everyone at the club.
“As we target promotion, investment is needed to ensure our ground copes with the demand of more fans coming through the turnstiles, and the sponsorship will go a long way in helping us achieve this.
“It will also help sustain our match day travel fees, and 3G academy pitch, which is trained on by our academy and affiliated junior teams.”
Danny Hudson, partner and member of the family law team at Watsons Solicitors, said: “Warrington Town is a fantastic community club, and we’re looking forward to supporting the club’s progress off the field.
“The Watsons Solicitors stand will be a permanent show of our support throughout the season – and it is already well known to some of our employees, who are regulars on match days.
“I hope the partnership will prove an asset in helping the club reach the next level, which in turn will help put Warrington on the map.”
