Cheshire-based Watsons Solicitors has once again shown support for St. Rocco’s Hospice through its Make a Will Month campaign.
The Warrington firm’s backing of the charity spans more than a dozen years, with the latest initiative assisted by Alex Mitchell, Jennifer Stewart, and Kristel Clarke.
Alex and Kristel, both partners at Watsons, as well as fellow member of the probate department Jennifer, took part in the fundraiser, with people making a suitable donation made to St. Rocco’s in lieu of the usual will writing fee.
This annual event is hugely important for the hospice, which supports patients physically, psychologically, and emotionally, enabling them to carry on living the lives they want to for as long as possible.
Alex said: “Make a Will month is always one of the key events in the year, as we really treasure being able to help St. Rocco’s.
“The hospice touches many lives in Warrington, and every member of the team at Watsons knows somebody who has either received support from St. Rocco’s or their friends and family have.
“We always do what we can to assist the hospice, whether that’s via this initiative or visiting patients to provide advice.”
A four-figure sum was raised for St. Rocco’s during a busy month for the private client team, with Alex adding: “We saw an increase in uptake this year, which is wonderful.
“It is important to make a will regardless of what stage of life you are in, but especially in cases where individuals are unmarried or have children from previous relationships.
“The rules that apply in these instances do not generally follow what a client likely wants to happen, so having your affairs in order is crucial.”
St. Rocco’s corporate partnerships manager Liam Durkan said: “We're so grateful for the ongoing support from Watsons Solicitors.
“By taking part in Will month and encouraging donations to St. Rocco's, Watsons are directly supporting our patients across Warrington who are accessing end of life care.
“Providing an affordable way for individuals to create or update their will means they are supporting the wider Warrington community and it's always a pleasure to partner with Watsons during this campaign.”
