“It was a fantastic experience to be part of – 15 women coming together, supporting each other for a common cause…. Nothing like it.”
Those are the words of Rebecca Wray, who was part of the group of female business minds which scaled Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to raise crucial funds for Warrington Youth Zone.
Organised by Lauren Soutar, a member of the family department at Watsons Solicitors, and Adele Carr Recruitment’s Rebecca Delooze, the team has secured more than £3,000 in sponsorship.
Warrington Youth Zone is a purpose-built state-of-the-art facility that provides somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to for every young person aged 7 to 19 – and up to 25 for those with additional needs – in the town.
Lauren, who is a trustee of the charity, and was joined on the climb by Watsons Solicitors colleague Lauren Hosie, said: “It was an amazing experience to scale the highest mountain in Wales and raise important resources for a cause close to my heart.
“To see the group pulling together and overcoming whatever hurdles the mountain had to throw at us was wonderful, as was the chance to network and get to know each other that bit better.
“I also know just how valuable a sum upwards of £3,000 will be to Warrington Youth Zone as it looks to continue providing youngsters with vital support.”
Danny Hudson, partner, and member of the family law department at Watsons, was on hand to show his support for the team’s achievements.
