Watsons family department continues to grow with paralegal recruit

March 6, 2026

Megan Bentley is the latest fresh face to join Watsons Solicitors’ family law department as she seeks to advance her career.

Since starting her role as a paralegal in February, the Skelmersdale-native has been working closely alongside the team drafting orders and C2 applications, while also managing legal aid applications.

The 19-year-old brings with her two years of experience as a paralegal in addition to a Level 3 City & Guilds diploma for the business administrator and a Level 3 paralegal apprenticeship from Data Law.

She said: “I’m really enjoying my time here so far. It’s a great atmosphere and a lovely office, and my colleagues Catrin Parry and Lauren Soutar have been really welcoming from the start.

“I also find working in the family department very rewarding, as I get to see how my efforts are having a positive impact in people’s lives through offering them support in a range of difficult situations.

“In addition, a big draw for me to apply for a position at Watsons was the opportunity it offers to gain more exposure to different areas in procedural matters by working with several family law solicitors, which is something I look forward to.”

Having previously worked for law firms in both Liverpool and Manchester after finishing her GCSEs, Megan is eager to continue expanding her skillset and undertake the solicitor Level 7 degree apprenticeship.

She continued: “When looking at the course, I realised I needed to broaden my experience by working with parents, as my previous role in Liverpool saw me only represent children, so I’m really excited to build on this foundational knowledge with the team here at Watsons.

“Overall, I hope I can continue to provide valuable support to my colleagues and to clients.”

Danny Hudson, partner and fellow member of the family department, said: “We’re always keen to attract the best talent to the firm, so it’s fantastic to welcome Megan on board.

“With her background as a paralegal and her drive to strengthen her skillset, I’m confident she will continue to thrive and deliver great results.”
