Darcey Moore is eager to make a difference as the latest member of Watsons Solicitors family law department.
From shadowing counsel at court, to drafting C2 applications for child arrangement cases, Darcey is providing valuable support to the Cheshire-based law firm’s solicitors.
Having previously worked as a paralegal in public law children matters, the 24-year-old Stafford native joined the team in July.
Darcey, who earned a LLB honours degree from the University of Lincoln in Law with Criminology, said: “Everyone at Watsons has been so welcoming, and I’ve felt supported from the very start.
“The opportunity to visit court has been invaluable to me, as I’ve been able to learn how best to conduct myself from observing barristers in action – something I hope to take forward in the future.
“Although every case is different and some can be quite complex, I find fulfilling a role that makes a difference in people’s lives very rewarding.”
After completing her Master of Law in legal practice at the University of BPP in Birmingham, Darcey undertook paralegal work and knew she wanted to continue in the sector, which is when her connection with Watsons began.
She continued: “Once I got the chance to speak to the team at Watsons, I was impressed with the level of expertise the firm offers clients and its overarching people-focused approach.
“I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for me here and hope to continue building upon my skillset and support my colleagues as best I can.”
Danny Hudson, partner and fellow member of the family department, said: “It’s been fantastic to welcome Darcey aboard and to see how well she has settled in.
“We are always keen to attract and retain key talent and she certainly brings fresh capabilities to the team.”
