Cheshire-based Watsons Solicitors is once again aiming to convert its decade-long support for St Rocco’s Hospice into vital funds as part of the annual Will Week.
For more than 10 years, the Warrington firm has taken part in the event, which runs between 15-19 May, and allows people to receive a free will in return for a donation to the registered charity.
The hospice supports patients physically, psychologically, and emotionally to enable them to carry on living the lives they want to for as long as possible.
Alex Mitchell, partner and a member of the wills and probate department at Watsons, said: “St Rocco’s does wonderful work, and it’s fabulous that we can continue supporting the charity as we have done since 2012.
“As a firm, we are passionate about giving back to the local community and to be able to play even a small part in helping the hospice for an 11th successive year is fantastic.”
A notable feature of Will Week 2022 was the amount of people making charities, including St Rocco’s, a beneficiary.
Alex continued: “Last year was one of the first times I’ve seen as many people make provisions for charity when making a will.
“It’s brilliant to know that St Rocco’s could potentially stand to receive healthy donations from our work later down the line.
“This initiative is always successful in raising funds, as well as increasing awareness of why writing a will is an important process.”
Nicola Henshaw, fundraising manager at St Rocco’s Hospice, is “extremely grateful” for the support shown by Watsons over the past decade.
She said: “We rely on the help of local businesses and the community to continue our care to the people of Warrington, who are living with life-limiting illnesses, and their families when they need us the most.
“The continued support from the team at Watson’s for our Will Week campaign, ensures we are able to do so.”
