Will Week, which runs every November, allows people to receive a free will in return for a donation to the rugby league club’s charity organisation.
The foundation provides life-changing opportunities through sport, education, health and the arts, which enrich, inspire and celebrate the Warrington community.
Watsons’ previous fundraising record stood at £2,000 with all funds going towards the sporting charity’s heritage activities, which helped with the upkeep of a history wall on the south stand of the club’s Halliwell Jones stadium.
Alex Mitchell, partner and head of the private client department at Watsons Solicitors, said: “We have a fabulous relationship with Warrington Wolves and the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and are really pleased to have strengthened it further with this record-breaking amount of donations.”
The annual programme was supported by Warrington Wolves legend Ben Westwood who visited Watsons to set up his own will after retiring from rugby league at the end of the season.
He said: “It’s great that Watsons has supported the charitable foundation through Will Week once again.
“They have raised a fantastic amount of money which will go a long way towards the important work the organisation carries out.”
A husband and wife were the lucky winners of a prize draw coinciding with Will Week and took home a Warrington Wolves shirt signed by Ben Westwood.
Reflecting on the success of Will Week, Alex explained how important it is to seek professional advice and underlined how simple the process can be.
She said: “We are experts in the field with appropriate client care procedures in place to ensure the quality of the service stands out when it comes to using a professional law firm.
“To get a will written it is as simple as contacting our offices to set up an appointment. Bring along some identification and we’ll take people through the process with no hassle.”
Its experienced solicitors each hold accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
