Watsons Solicitors is giving back to the local community once again by supporting two of Warrington’s most eagerly awaited events.
The law firm is sponsoring both the Warrington Business Awards Plus, which are making a return to the social calendar after a four-year hiatus, and the Warrington Running Festival.
The sporting occasion welcomes participants to compete in its 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and junior races, with five members of the Watsons team joining thousands of other competitors last year.
Taking place on Sunday 20 September, the festival will raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice, with a variety of entertainment, activities, and food vendors on offer.
Partner and residential conveyancing solicitor Chris Illingworth, who took part in last year’s 10k run, said: “It’s our fourth consecutive year backing an event that is at the centre of the community and supporting those who need it.
“The day always brings a real buzz to the town, and I hope everyone who comes along, whether taking part or simply enjoying what’s on offer, has a great time while helping an important cause.”
Watsons is also sponsoring the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Warrington Business Awards Plus 2026, which is back in the calendar for the first time since 2022.
Celebrating the 150th anniversary of both the Warrington Chamber of Commerce, now rebranded to Warrington Chambers Plus, and Warrington Wolves, the ceremony will take place at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday 15 October.
Other categories on the night include:
- Business of the Year
- SME of the Year
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Business Man of the Year
- Business Woman of the Year
- Young Person / Apprentice / Student of the Year
- Charity of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement of the Year
- Employer of the Year
Danny Hudson, partner and member of the family department, said: “It’s great to see the return of the awards, and having previously served as chairman of the committee, I can appreciate how much effort goes into the organisation.
“Occasions like this are so important to the town’s community, providing an opportunity to shine a light on the achievements of local businesses and bring people together to celebrate the impact they have across Warrington.”
