Anne Williams is proud to be part of the “exceptional” team at Watsons Solicitors as she brings her considerable expertise to the family law department.
Cheshire-based Watsons headhunted Anne to join its firm and help manage a demanding period for the sector, which has led to an increase in new clients.
Specialising in divorce, financial remedy work and private children law, Anne brings 26 years’ experience to the now five-strong division.
Anne, who has the Law Society’s family law advanced panel accreditation, said: “When a firm with the reputation of Watsons wants you to be part of its team, it’s tough to say no.
“I’m tremendously loyal, so it was always going to take something special for me to consider leaving my previous firm, and this opportunity was exactly that.
“Watsons is held in high regard within the profession and that is partly down to its exceptional staff and the work it does, but also its support of, and commitment to, the local community.”
After graduating with a law degree from Newcastle University, Anne completed the legal practice course at Chester College of Law.
Widnes born and bred, Anne is a member of Resolution, meaning that she is committed to the code of practice, which promotes a constructive approach to issues and considers the needs of the whole family, particularly the best interests of children.
Anne, who is learning to play the piano in her spare time, continued: “This role is a new challenge and one I can’t wait to get stuck into.
“Watsons wants to achieve the best outcome for every client, and I share this goal. Each client is equally important, and I am aligned with the principles of delivering practical, solution-focused advice and providing robust representation.
So, whilst the environment I am working in has changed, these objectives will, crucially, remain the same.”
Anne has been greeted by a host of familiar faces at Watsons, where she will continue to impart her wealth of knowledge on complex family law cases.
“I’ve known Danny (Hudson) and Catrin (Parry) for years and have always admired their knowledge and professionalism whenever our paths have crossed,” said the keen horse racing enthusiast.
“Lauren Soutar and I worked together previously, she is an amazing talent, and I’m delighted that we will be reunited in Watsons family department.”
Partner and fellow member of the family department, Danny Hudson, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Anne to what is an already hugely experienced team.
“Attracting someone as talented and knowledgeable as Anne will only help cement our reputation as the go-to family law firm in the area.”
