Watsons Solicitors is helping promote fitness and education through the newly created Wire2Wolves Heritage Trail.
Celebrating 150 years of Warrington Wolves, the near five-mile walk has been created by the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation.
The trail, which takes around two hours and 11,000 steps to complete, tells the rugby league club’s journey since inception in 1876, providing an opportunity for the community to come together, connect, and gain a deeper appreciation of the effort and commitment that has gone into the last century-and-a-half.
Those wanting to walk the route can scan a QR code outside the club’s official shop, with the trail offering the following:
Stories from the field: Hear former players relive their most iconic memories of the club and our community.
Collect your Wolfie stamps: Check in at key waypoints using your phone. Answer interactive quizzes to light up your digital club badge.
Discover our town: Explore iconic landmarks, from Brian Bevan Island to the old Wilderspool site, and see how the club’s history is woven into our streets.
Complete and claim: Finish the trail to unlock a special discount for the official club shop.
Danny Hudson, partner and a member of the family department at Watsons Solicitors, said: “It was wonderful to be part of the official launch of the heritage trail in the centre of the town.
“We love being part of Warrington’s heartbeat and this is another fantastic initiative that will help people physically and mentally whilst learning about 150 years of the Wire.
“The Warrington Wolves Community Foundation does so much brilliant work and we strive to help support its ideas wherever possible.”
As part of its backing, Watsons has supported the In The Sheds initiative, aimed at assisting lonely or isolated individuals build social connectivity, while hundreds of miles have been cycled as part of the foundation’s annual charity bike ride.
Warrington head coach Sam Burgess, a former cross-code international, meanwhile, is urging people to walk the trail.
He said: “For us as a club, as we go into our 150th year, it’s really important that all of us understand where we’ve come from.
“Especially for some of our younger players to properly understand what it means to put on a Warrington shirt, who we are, and where we’ve come from.
“It’s a really special day to understand the history and the foundations on which the club are built on.
“I’d say for every Warrington player, past or present, any fan, that it is essential you should go and do the heritage walk.”
